New Sneaks

Update: Just bought some sweet new kicks from Finish Line - I wear my others (that I got on Overstock.com for $30 including the cost of shipping!

I can't wait to pick them up after work and give them a test run:)

Best Mall Breakfast EVER.

Good Morning!

I decided to start my Saturday at work off right with my absolute all-time favorite mall breakfast.

I walked straight past Chick-Fil-A, Wendy's and regrettably a previous favorite, Nature's Table, which is now closed.

Drumroll, please...

My favorite Starbucks breakfast: the Dark Cherry Yogurt Parfait.

Gym Rat... Wait, I mean RANT.

Are any of you the type of person who feel the need to go to the gym for some "peace and quiet" time mixed with a little sweat?

Today, that person was me.

The dreary Gainesville weather was one of the larger catalysts for my gloomy moods, and all I wanted to do was head out for a sweat sesh to realign my mind.

ALL I wanted was this:

And got just the opposite.

There are bills being propositioned to ban cell phone use while driving are in the works, why not keep on truckin' and ban cell phone use on treadmills?

P.S. - Most of my eats for the day were very "college-approved" -- lots of cereal, and Ramen in the near future.

Edit-- no Ramen, managed to scrounge up some veggies for a spectacular salad:)

Have a lovely Thursday evening:)

Back to School, Back to School

Ah, the first day of school. I woke up bright and early (6 a.m., early in comparison to the later 9 a.m. mornings of summer) and headed to Wildflower's resident gym for a brisk, uphill walk to the beat of MTV tunes before I headed to Dr. Ronald Rodgers editing lab.

I chose to blog about the world of food in relation to exercise because of my rising interest in the subjects- after a summer filled with reading similar blogs (Iowa Girl Eats, The Healthy Beach Bum and Eat, Live, Run, to name a few), I decided that blogging about what I ate and food and exercise information in the news would be a great way to stay up-t0-date with the information.

My favorite recent news article about exercise, which discusses whether or not it actually has an effect on our bodies or whether it just allows us to eat more without guilt. I have yet to decide on a healthy balance between the two. The article can be found at this link.

My eats so far:

Breakfast: Chocolate Coconut LaraBar

I also had a mid-morning snack of one hardboiled egg and a piece of toast with sugar-free orange marmalade.
